Is it true that a woman can only get pregnant one day out of a month ?

my health teacher said that the egg is only ready to be fertilized for 24 hours in a whole month and i'm like that's fxxkin bull$h!t people do it randomly ALL THE TIME and have babies if there was only a 1 day out of a month chance of having a baby there wouldnt be so many teenage pregnancies...
